Dr. Simon Vun, FRACS, is a highly accomplished Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon from Australia. With more than 13 years of professional experience, Dr. Vun brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice.
Dr. Vun's educational background is impressive, consisting of a Bachelor of Medical Science, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours, and a Master of Surgery. He has also been esteemed as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Furthermore, he is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery (ANZSVS) and the Australasian Vascular Audit (AVA).
Dr. Vun is actively involved in shaping the future of surgical education and training. He serves as an instructor in the prestigious Australia and NZ Surgical Skills Education and Training (ASSET) program, which is conducted under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Additionally, he holds faculty positions in the Western Australia Vascular Education (WAVE) program and the Adelaide Vascular Trial (AVT) program, where he imparts his knowledge and skills to both Australian and international vascular surgeons-in-training. Moreover, Dr. Vun contributes to the academic community as a clinical senior lecturer at Flinders University.
Among his diverse areas of expertise, Dr. Vun has a particular focus on arterial reconstruction, renal access, spine access, and venous intervention. He actively supports South Australia's busiest TAVI aortic valve program, operating at Flinders and Ashford Hospitals.
